Community Updates from Dr. Bob: 08/16/2023

Are we there yet?

Sometimes the Christian life feels like being a kid in the back seat on a road trip. When visibility is limited and the destination seems like it’s an eternity away it’s about keeping busy on the journey.

So much of the Christian life is about seeing what is not yet fully present—and trying to make the most of the journey. Our lives right here and now are a piece of the coming Kingdom that we have yet to see in all its fullness. While the invisible has not yet been made visible, we do get glimpses of it. We catch its scent in the air. We hear notes of a symphony  that is not yet of this world. As you listen closely, you fall in step to the rhythm.

And so we continue moving in the direction God has for us, personally and as a church.

If you’re asking, “Are we there yet?” this is your chance for an update on our journey.

Vision Night

Monday, September 11

6:00pm – 7:30 pm

Vision Night is a time to  come together as a community of all ages. We’ll have special programming for the kids, time to catch up, eat, worship, and  hear the latest updates on where we are as a congregation and where we’re going.

We’ll assess how we have grown in the three critical areas of 1) vision clarity, 2) ministry engagement, and 3) financial stability. And then we’ll look at what impact that has on our search for a senior pastor. We’ll forecast what that search process will look like and ways we can prepare for it. Please join us for this important evening as we move forward together as a community.

Please sign up HERE so we can plan for food.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
