Made in the Shade – 2017 Year End Drive

Give to Made in the Shade

Our vision at Community Baptist is to Transform Families For Generations

Our goal is $50,000 and it will be used to make improvements to the north lawn and build a roof for an orphanage in Kenya.

Give Today

Our Year End Drive this year is called Made in the Shade, which is based on Psalm 36:7, which says, “How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.” We want to create a space on the north lawn where children, teens, adults and families can find refuge in God’s love as the connect with each other and encounter Jesus.

We want to add some canopies to provide shade on warm summer days as well as seating that families can enjoy during special events or after services on the weekend. We want to extend the sidewalk and add a small stage area for baptisms and other outdoor events through the year. We want to enhance the lighting on the northern most end of the lawn, as well as make improvements to the sidewalk, drainage and the lawn itself. These changes will be the next step in CBC’s 40-year history of reaching out to our community to see families transformed for generations.

Along with being Made in the Shade and experiencing the refuge of God’s love, we also want to extend that love around the world. So, we’re going to go beyond our regular 10%, and give 15% of whatever we raise during our Year End Drive to an orphanage in Kenya that doesn’t have a roof. There’s a building for these children in need, but they don’t have a roof. So while we aim to raise canopies to provide shade for ourselves, we’ll also be working to literally put a roof over the heads of children who desperately need one.

Will you join us in helping to see families transformed for generations, both here and in Kenya? Donations can be made online using the button above (select “Made in the Shade” as the giving type), or placed in the offering basket during weekend services (please be sure to mark your check and envelope with “Made in the Shade” or “YED”).

Thank you for your part in helping us reach out to families both here and around the world. If you have any questions, you can contact our Director of Administration Kent Pomeroy.
