Dear Friends,

One of the foundational tenets of a personal faith is that we worship a God who hears us. We cry out to him and he listens to our voice and responds. Over and over throughout scripture we see people calling on the Lord—in times of trouble, in times of celebration, in times of change—and we see him listening. Our voices matter to God.

The same is true here among the people of God at Community. Every single voice matters, to us and to Jesus. By hearing from you, you can help us focus on what’s really critical at this time. Our upcoming listening sessions are designed to do precisely that. We want everyone to have a chance to speak into our life as a church body. This is a place where we can put it all on the table: our hopes, our fears, our questions, our concerns. All emotions are okay; that’s normal during times of transition. Just come and be a part of helping us move forward productively. This is how the church has always addressed issues that arise—from ways to care for the widows in Acts 6 to the contentious question of circumcision in Acts 15. We gather to foster dialogue and healthy communication so as to discern the direction of God together.

Here are just some of the kinds of questions we’ll be addressing:

  • What do you especially appreciate about Community?
  • What are your dreams for Community?
  • If Jesus had his way, what would look or feel different in the next three to five years?

How you can help

Pray and dream before the Lord about Community’s exciting future. Ask God how you can be a more active part in what God wants to do.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Important upcoming meeting

Come to the Town Hall meeting on Sunday, March 26 from noon-1:00pm. Your presence is very important. I will be sharing some important church family news and we’ll have time to answer any questions you have. Childcare will be provided.

Great Moments with Pastor Rob

As he did with thousands of other couples, he officiated our wedding, although this wedding was done ‘Hawaiian style’. Rob was so happy that he could wear a Hawaiian shirt instead of a suit. We were all thinner then, and had more hair.

Bless you in your future adventures, Rob!

Do you have a fond memory of Pastor Rob? Be sure to share with us by emailing a story and a picture to greatmoments@findcommunity.com. We want to collect as many as possible in preparation for his retirement celebration on April 23!
