Church Family,

The board members at Community Church Rancho take our calling seriously and do our best to serve with care and dedication trusting in the Lord.  It is an honor for each of us to serve in this capacity.  As you know, this season of transition hasn’t been easy, but we see signs of God at work among us, which gives us hope for the future.

We’re also grateful to be part of the Aspire Network, which has been a valuable leadership resource during this time. Aspire continues to work closely with our church leadership to help us chart a path forward.  They support and continue to partner with us pursuing a new life cycle as a church. Like you, they see God’s presence at work here at Community Church Rancho and believe that with God’s help, we can begin this new life cycle together.

Isaiah 43:19 “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

Charting new courses is not an easy journey. To help us on this journey, at the recommendation of Aspire, a Transition Team has been formed. They will guide us as we step into this new chapter and bring renewed direction and experienced leadership.  Working together the Transitional Team has been identified and includes three partners from our church, Jeff Johnson, Robin Zamora, and Riley Wells.  It also includes three leaders from the Aspire Church Network, Doug Meye, Willie Nolte, and Dane Aaker.

For a fresh start, when one season begins another season ends. And in this case, for this Transition Team to have the freedom to be effective, it means we, your Board, need to step aside to allow for that impact. So with that conviction in our hearts, to make room for this Transition Team, we voluntarily resigned from the Board, as we shared during the September 15th service.  This moving service focused on surrendering to what God wants to do in and through our lives and church. As the church board steps aside, we surrender our trust and faith, making it not about us, but about God to flourish. This act of release opens the way for His will to unfold in this new season of our church’s life.

This hasn’t been an easy decision for the board members as we care deeply about this church and our callings to serve in these roles.  Our church is on a journey and we are committed to that journey.  But as we’ve prayed, discussed, and discerned God’s will, we’ve come to believe that this is the right step. We believe that this Transition Team will help our church begin a new life cycle, create a way forward for renewal, and reach more people for Jesus, and we fully support it.  Even though we’re stepping aside as Board members, we’re still here with you and our church. We’re still part of Community Church Rancho, and we’re committed to carrying out this new chapter together, serving where we need the most.  With these changes at the church, we will continue to be open at all times.  Doug, Brett, and I are available to answer your questions about the transition team, the board stepping aside, the beginning of the Senior Pastor Search Team, or any other questions you may have.

We want to call each of you to a renewed commitment to Jesus and His mission. There’s a great mission ahead of us—to reach people for Jesus, nurture faith, strengthen the church, and see God’s work flourish here at Community Church Rancho and beyond. Let’s work together trusting in God’s direction, embracing new seasons, and the lives that will be impacted in our community.
