Community Updates from Dr. Bob: 11/29/2023

Community is stronger when we come before the Lord together. As an important part of our community, you are invited to a special Vision and Prayer Night coming up on Monday, December 4 from 6:30-7:30pm!

As we continue to move forward in the transition process, prayer opens our hearts and minds to what Jesus has planned for Community. By gathering to bring our needs and hopes for today and the future before the Lord we strengthen the cords that bind us together.

Our time together will be an important call to prayer for our church community. We’ll spend an hour devoting ourselves to communing with God, asking for his direction, and listening for his voice. We’ll spend intentional time praying for God’s work in our lives, in our church family, in our neighborhoods, and our direction as a congregation.

As God is stirring in our midst, let’s gather to pray for his work in and through us. May this be a season of prayer and an awakening to all that God may have for us.

Together on the mission of Jesus,

Dr. Bob

As we prepare our hearts for Monday night, join me in this pray of preparation:

Dear Lord, please help us hear your voice as you speak into our church. Allow your voice to supersede our own hopes and desires for the ministry. Give us the vision you want us to pursue. Help us see it and taste it. Confirm it by the enthusiasm of our people and by clear alignment with Kingdom values. Help us to live according to biblical values—and to be aware of what our unique values are. Give us the courage to move toward the unique mission you have call us toward, as we are but a small part of the church universal embarking on the Great Commission. We stand before you in humility, recognizing that we cannot see all the steps ahead of us. Rather, guide us and give us faith, direction, and clarity as we move forward, step by step, according to the light you provide.
